The Rabbit School, a Cambodian non-governmental organization, began its activities in May 1997 in Phnom Penh. It was founded with the mission to provide education for children with intellectual disabilities in Cambodia, under the premise that “every child has the right to education” – as defined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Over the years the Rabbit School has made great strides in different areas all contributing to the advancement of the education of mentally disabled children in Cambodia.
Rabbit School focuses its efforts on four primary areas of action:
- Inclusive education from 4 to 25 years old
- Vocational training for young adults with intellectual disabilities from 16 to 25
- Teacher training on special education
- Raise awareness and Advocacy for people with disability rights
