The Requiem Project is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit arts company whose mission is to re-establish an acoustically-pure historic treasure, The Emery, & transform the theatre into a unique venue that defines itself as a space that encourages creative growth, fosters a multitude of opportunities for artistic collaborations, & offers arts-based educational opportunities through dance, music, theatre, visual, and interdisciplinary artistic expressions.
The Requiem Project is a commitment to re-enlivening Mrs. Mary Emery’s hundred year-old passion for Cincinnati’s timeless love for the arts and her donation of the Emery to the city of Cincinnati as a place for ‘civic betterment.’ The Requiem Project’s dedicated mission is to resurrect Mrs. Emery’s belief that high-quality art inspires individuals and communities to invest in themselves and that inclusion and respect lead to a better society. Everyone has a voice and the Emery, literally and metaphorically, should be a place not only to listen but also to be heard.
The Requiem Project is about honoring the impulse of that hundred year old mission and enlivening the present so that the Emery can continue on as a hub for art making for the next one hundred years.
