The SAILS Group, Inc. (Supported And Independent Living Services) is an international agency committed to the quality of care, supervision and training of adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We specialize in the most behaviorally challenged individuals and are known for our holistic, non-aversive training methods. When possible, we help these individuals develop skills, earn income, and live an integrated life in their communities.
The SAILS Group, Inc. operates three separate for-profit corporations: SAILS Bakersfield, SAILS Los Angeles and SAILS San Diego. The SAILS Group also provides management and administrative services for two nonprofit corporations: Kids First Foundation (U.S.A.) and Kids First Foundation – Colombia.
SAILS is committed to providing the most collaborative and multi-dimensional array of services in order to meet the needs of the individuals served. We realize these needs change on an on-going basis, with the ultimate goal of placing an individual in the least restrictive environment.
SAILS holds a long-standing history of expertise and success in this field. The group currently operates 37 licensed and/or vendored services among all the companies, 17 of which are Adult Residential Facilities, fifteen are Children’s Group Homes, two are in-home behavioral support programs, and three are adult behavioral day programs. With an additional three programs under development, the SAILS Group will reach 40 facilities by 1st Quarter 2016, indicating a steady growth rate of two per year.
With almost two decades of practicing knowledge, over 400 current employees and a proven record of success in working with and molding some of the most behaviorally challenging individuals in the state of California, SAILS’ success is ultimately related to its philosophy, values, structure and consistency that is relayed to both the persons served and staff alike.
