The SARA Project

The SARA project is a turnkey solution receiving funding from the European GNSS Agency (grant agreement No 776099), under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme GALILEO-3-2017, aiming to propose a product to be used for Search and Rescue (SAR) and Surveillance purposes. SAR Maritime domain is the primary market; however, other side markets are identified in Safety and Security areas, with specific focus on stakeholders in charge of ensuring Surveillance (to avoid intrusions and detect potential threats within wide open areas) especially during major events or with reference to infrastructures under construction. In particular, as very promising side market, SARA team carries on with technological challenges and business model experimenting to reach sport domain as a provider for events surveillance management and stream broadcaster. SARA solution, being a #tethered #drone, is able to guarantee continuous operations by means of a patented cable used to gather power and as a secure data link transmission. Moreover, SARA makes usage of #Galileo GNSS receivers allowing high accuracy for #Guidance #Navigation #Control of drone as well as for target #identification and #localisation.
