Established in 2015, SCARF stands as the premier Adventure and Winter Sports Club in Gilgit Baltistan, proudly holding the title of the sole Ice Hockey Club in Pakistan. With a robust community of over 1100 members, the club boasts expertise in a diverse array of activities, including Ice Hockey, Mount Cycling, Ice Climbing, Rock Climbing, Skating, and trekking. Notably, there are more than 550 female members within the age bracket of 4-30 years old.
Driven by the passion of youth, the club operates with a core group of dedicated volunteers, advisory committee, and cabinet members. Despite the challenges posed by the size of the club, these individuals, many juggling full-time employment and studies, contribute to the smooth administration of SCARF.
As pioneers of Pakistan's First-ever Ice Hockey and High Altitude Mount Cycling, SCARF recently successfully concluded Karakoram Winterlude Season 4 in January 2022. The event featured a thrilling lineup, including the Ice Hockey Championship, Ice Climbing, Musical Night, Figure Skating, Mount Cycling, Ice Sculpturing, Glacier walk, Snow Throwing, Snow Hiking, storytelling, Film Festival, and Snowboarding.
Anticipation is high for Karakoram Winterlude 5, scheduled to take place from 10th to 16th January 2023, promising a spirited and enthusiastic atmosphere. The event is expected to draw more than 14 teams and 450+ national and international players, cementing SCARF's position as a driving force in the world of adventure and winter sports.
