The Spark Newspaper has been published in a variety of forms for just over 80 years and is the oldest form of media at Reading University Students Union. The paper is currently produced on a monthly basis with an average of 48 pages per issue. Circulation runs at 2000 copies an issue, with an online version also available via the newspaper's website.
The newspaper is run by a 10-strong editorial team, headed by an Editor-in-Chief with section editors for News, Entertainment, Lifestyle, and Sport. Reading University students act as contributors to the paper's content, alongside the editorial team, and occasionally the university itself.
