The first issue of the Spinal Column newspaper was published in May 1961. The founders chose the name Spinal Column because they wanted their newspaper to be “The Backbone of the Community.” Today, 58 years later, those words still hold true. The Spinal Column is a family of community print and online products delivered via mail and pick-up locations to White Lake, Commerce, Milford, Walled Lake, Wolverine Lake, Wixom, and the lakes area of NW Oakland County.
