The UPLB VALUES Lab

The project aims to strengthen capacity in the valuation and accounting of natural capital and ecosystem services in support of developing interventions for Sustainable Forest and Natural Resources Management. Specifically it aims to: 1. Establish a repository of ecosystem service/s (ES) studies 2. Identify gaps in the science and practice of valuation and accounting of natural capital and ecosystem services in the Philippines 3. Develop simplified approaches and guidelines on valuing natural resources 4. Build a critical mass of men and women researchers that will implement valuation studies in support of integrating natural capital accounts into the System of National Accounts (SNA) 5. Promote the use of information from valuation studies for sustainable financing mechanism and access benefit sharing schemes 6. Develop policy recommendations based on the gaps in science and practice of valuation identified
