The Us Charitable Trust

The US Charitable Trust exists to mobilise marginalised young people through the development of transferable life skills and cultural and social capital; equipping them with the confidence and freedom to fulfil their dreams and secure a bright and meaningful future. We work towards young people in Brent having open access to knowledge, skills development, opportunities and support to improve current quality of life and make informed decisions for their next steps. We want to develop stronger bonds between communities and curate lasting support networks which become embedded in the community beyond any one programme. It’s not about providing the same support which is present in more affluent boroughs, it’s about providing support relevant to overcoming poverty, gentrification and immigration difficulties to have access to the same opportunities as those in more affluent boroughs. We believe the job market is moving towards a place where life experience, skills and potential is valued over qualification, and we see these qualities in abundance in the young people of Brent. We work to imbue these priorities into education to help improve social mobility across the borough as a whole.
