Founded in 1870 by renowned educator and United States Senator William R. “Sawney” Webb, The Webb School, located in Bell Buckle, Tenn., is the oldest, continuously operating private boarding and day school in the South. Guided by core values of honor, integrity and civility, Webb's goal is to motivate young men and women to fulfill their promise with a strong emphasis on independent thinking, creative initiative, personal integrity, and civic responsibility. This is found in our mission "to turn out young people who are tireless workers, and who know how to work effectively; who are accurate scholars; who know the finer points of morals and practice them in their daily living; who are always courteous.” With our students’ commitment to this mission as well as a challenging academic curriculum and full extracurricular program, our graduates are prepared for college and for life.
