We are the Young Coders' Initiative, a non-profit organization run by high school students who are passionate about promoting computational literacy and career opportunities in computer science throughout the community. Specially, we focus on underprivileged youth by visiting schools with historically low exposure to the field and introducing students to computer science as a possible career path, teaching foundational computing skills, providing students with online resources to further their own education, and helping students with internships, jobs, and college admissions. We consider our seminars a gateway for students to dive deeper into the subject independently and possibly pursue Computer Science as a career in the future. We also host monthly events for the whole community, where students from different schools can meet like-minded peers and have fun exploring their passions.
