The African Women'S Institute

The African Women'S Institute company information, Employees & Contact Information

The African Women’s Institute had its very first engagement with adult learners in the summer of 2014 in Kisumu, Kenya. By September of 2015, the organisation was registered as a community based organisation under the name “Jamaa Lifelong Learning Organisation”. The name would eventually change in 2018 to “The African Women’s Institute” with an aim to bring African women together at home in Africa and in the Diaspora. We now focus on improving living standards for our most disadvantaged members; while we also work to increase women’s engagement with education, wealth creation and food production. We currently have close to ten centres for adult learning, spread across Kenya; however we also have a new centre in London, UK where African women continue to meet and engage in various activities.
