The Amplifiers

We are a global community of people who are eager to turn gender bias on its head through everyday actions. The aim of the community is to exchange ideas - what can each of us do in our everyday life - at home, at work, when shopping - to contribute to creating more of a balance. Our impact stems from casual, everyday actions everyone can consciously incorporate in their lives. We meet once a month to inspire each other with the little things we do in our everyday life to turn gender bias on its head. Here's some inspiration from our community: In a restaurant, I ask if they have wine from any women-owned wineries. (Mark) I interrupt men who interrupt women in business meetings. (Mohamed) I ask coaches in the gym to adjust the workout for people who do not need to bulk up their chest. (Amy) I wrote an email to the national TV to ask why they never invite female experts to the evening news. (Daria) Whenever my male colleagues call another female “bossy” or “aggressive” in a meeting, I remind them that I have never heard them use such a language in relation to another man. (Ashanti) I ask headhunters what is the % of women in the leadership of the company they want me to talk to. (Wojtek) I asked my son's teacher why there are no women authors on the list of books the kids must read this year. (Amy) If only one person does things like that, it won’t make a difference.
