About The Big Andrew Foundation

Founded in 2008 following the passing of our dear friend Andrew Gmelch, who at 15 years old lost his 2 year battle with cancer, The Big Andrew Foundation is a community based non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness as well as financial and moral support for cancer patients and their families. The foundation began with a surf event and car show on the east coast and grew in 2017 to include a kayak race on the west coast. Both the Pacific and Atlantic Chapters work to make the largest impact possible in the lives of the beneficiaries through shared love of outdoor recreation and giving back.
