The Bravery is a New York-based organization built to foster emotional connection and flexibility among young men.
The Bravery’s global emotional bravery online curriculum is designed for schools, extracurricular groups, coaches, teachers, and parents who are looking to offer opportunities to support the emotional growth, well-being, and connection of the young men and boys in their lives. The course, facilitated by Bravery Co-founders David Lavin and Caleb Spaulding, provides the tools and teachings to help participants gain greater access to their emotions, and opportunities to develop deeper, more authentic and enjoyable connections with their peers.
Our process mixes rhythm, music-making and expressive play, with attention to how we verbally express emotional and physical states and feelings. In order to explore and access emotions on a deeper level, we explore embodying our emotions. By focusing on the connection between verbal communication and body language, we can develop a deeper ease with how we process the way we feel, and greater compassion for how others do as well.
