The Consent-Ed Project

The Consent-Ed Project company information, Employees & Contact Information

The Consent-Ed (Sexual Violence Prevention and Awareness) programme aims to reduce levels of sexual violence through the engagement of young people in a dialogue that challenges attitudes, increases knowledge and build skillsets in relation to positive active consent and sexual violence. There are two schools/youth groups programmes currently running: The Senior Cycle programme, which is a 6-part series for 4th to 6th year students, and the Junior Cycle programme, a 4-part programme aimed towards 2nd year students. The Programme also works in collaboration with Pavee Point Traveller and Roma Centre to create materials and workshops for young members of the Travelling Community in Ireland. All Consent-Ed programmes encompass a number of key topics underpinned by both a sexual violence prevention and strengths-based approach and will support and inform the holistic development of young people in an age-appropriate way. It is an interactive programme utilising experiential learning methods to encourage active participation. A key aspect of our programmatic work is to train facilitators in the delivery of the Consent-Ed programmes, in order to embed the materials in schools and youth clubs. By training teachers and youth leaders, we can ensure that the programme is sustainable far after it finishes.
