The Regional Development Commission for Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, & the District of Columbia

The Regional Development Commission for Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia, operating as DMVDC, serves as a 501(c)4 status-seeking nonprofit corporation, founded for the purpose of establishing, promoting, and administering cooperation between the public and private sector interests of the DMV-DC region in the area's development and usage of resources. Specifically, the Commission seeks to achieve the following; Establish robust, cost efficient, environmentally friendly, and convenient interregional transport - with over three million people traveling and commuting between Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia for work and pleasure on a consistent basis, the development of existing transportational infrastructure and the establishment of interregional high speed rail services will be crucial for the area's success moving forward. The guarantee of admittance to, and the promulgation of the matriculation of, area K-12 graduates to regional public universities and colleges - talent essentially educated in the DMV-DC Area should earn their degrees here. The Commission will therefore seek to establish matriculation efforts and admission agreements between school districts and the university and college systems of its various members. Sharing a region means sharing resources & insight - From housing to commercial development, when one of us succeeds, we all succeed. In that spirit, the Commission will seek to establish data-sharing agreements between member governments and their agencies, and will seek to establish a communal pool of funds, under its administration, for use by members for projects and services that benefit them and the region. Through these efforts, the Commission will build vibrancy and cooperation in the area, in pursuit of a more robust and invigorated region.
