Romania is Finally Number One in Something Good!🐾
Exciting news from the European Pet Food Industry Federation (FEDIAF): Romanians prove that we are definitely cat people as Romania tops the list for cat-owning households in Europe! With 48% of households owning at least one cat, we’re far ahead of any other country. 🐱👏
But before we celebrate too much, it’s important to ask: how many of these are responsible cat owners?
In Romania, too many cats are still left to roam outside, facing countless dangers. 🛑 Many are not spayed or neutered, leading to overpopulation and suffering. And sadly, some “cat owners” are just people who feed cats outdoors without providing proper care like vaccinations or vet visits.
With such a high percentage of cat ownership, it’s shameful that Romania still struggles with stray cat overpopulation and lack of education and awareness (and frankly caring). Let’s work towards a future where every cat is cared for, safe, and loved! 💛
