The Learning Child

The Learning Child is a school for early childhood and inclusive special education with a long-serving history that began in 1969. TLC is committed to ensuring the total development of each child – an individual who always lives towards their fullest potential. At TLC, we believe that every individual has the ability to create for themselves a rich and meaningful life, if they possess a solid sense of self-esteem. We aim to provide our students with that foundation through Cura Personalis: personal care and concern. This is made possible through a small student-teacher ratio, arts-, play-based, and trauma-informed approaches to our teaching methods, and carefully designed learning experiences with our values at its core: compassion, creativity, service, integrity. Our physical environment has a feel of home, in consonance with carrying out its message of providing a second home for the children.
