It was 2018 when Shweta Ojha came across Anna McAfee on LinkedIn and was quite taken to her idea of a global initiative #LinkedInLocal - a not-for-profit meetup event to help online LinkedIn users connect face-to-face and build a meaningful network. When Shweta also experienced these LinkedIn Local events in India, it inspired her to become a host herself.

Going ahead with a vision to better the experience for the LinkedIn Local community, the initiative in its new avatar named 'The Linked Community' is going to change the way learning and networking communities operate. In doing so, we have furthered our big-picture goal of breaking the shackles of geographical restrictions and creating diversity in the community.

In the new avatar, "The Linked Community" had its first event on 20th January 2023 with around 50 attendees. The theme of the event was "Taking your next big leap" and it was well appreciated for its curation, ambience, and hi-energy as well as an opportunity to network.
