Welcome to the NAEP! Our organization has been developed to provide direct benefits to equine practitioners throughout the United States. We recognize that the needs of equine practitioners are quite unique in the veterinary community. Because the majority of many states’ VMA membership is comprised of small animal practitioners, these topics naturally become the focus for their conferences. Additionally, we have observed significant variation in the practice of equine veterinary medicine on a regional basis. This often makes national equine-oriented meetings helpful, but leaving practitioners looking for something slightly more specific to their area.
The NAEP has been developed to give the equine practitioner a voice at the state and regional level. Where state-level equine associations already exist, we are working to complement and support those established groups.
Publication of our magazine – Horse, Vet & Farrier – allows us to disseminate information to equine practitioners. We hope that you will also find this publication provides you with additional options for networking, new information sources, and enhanced continuing education seminars.
