Equitable access to education is a challenge faced by millions of children across the world. And in almost all cases, the barrier faced by the children is a financial one. Data from UNESCO shows that around the world, there are approximately 60 million children of primary school age who cannot afford education. And these numbers are also disproportionately inclined towards the regions of the world that are most stricken by poverty, such as sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia and East Asia and Pacific regions. Funding as little as $15 a month can often enable a child in these regions to afford primary and middle school education. However, there is no platform at the moment that is dedicated to connecting individuals who are capable and willing to donate to children in dire need of funding. NextOne aims to fill this vacuum, by establishing an online fundraising platform that will allow individuals to set up a person-to-person scholarship, enabling these children access to the financial support that can ensure education for them.
