The Niles is a publication supporting understanding and cooperation across the Nile Basin, covering issues affecting communities throughout the region since 2009, from Sudan’s historic transformations to current cross-border challenges, with a particular focus on sustainable water management since 2017. As the publication platform of the Nile Basin Media Network, The Niles benefits from the network’s collaboration with media professionals committed to producing balanced, solutions-oriented journalism. Through compelling reports and regional perspectives, The Niles seeks to deepen awareness of shared challenges and foster dialogue and constructive change. Managed by Media in Cooperation and Transition (MiCT), supported by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), and the German Federal Foreign Office, The Niles remains committed to highlighting the essential connections between communities across the Nile Basin.
