NORTH

NORTH is a social enterprise dedicated to the preservation of Himachali culture, craftsmanship, empirical design systems, and design innovation for the sustainable development of Himachal Pradesh. It is also an artist residency, off-beat experiential traditional stay. It inspires a self-sustainable way of living through natural building, organic farming, and appropriate technology is driven by wilderness and creativity. Lead by Ar. Rahul Bhushan, a Himachali; Did his bachelor's in Architecture and then a master's in design from CEPT University Ahmedabad with a specialization in crafts and technologies, natural building, and design thinking. He taught Adaptive reuse and Himalayan building practices at the Faculty of design, CEPT before he founded NORTH. He is the author of “Indigenous building practice systems in Western Himalayas” which will be launched before the end of this program.
