The One Train is Delayed is the only an all women and nonbinary run film production group at Barnard. We hope to create an inclusive space where individuals can take on lead roles in student film productions. Membership is open all year round to Barnard and Columbia students.
The group started in 2018 as Barnard's only all women and nonbinary SNL style comedy sketch group and would release monthly sketches on their Youtube Channel. Starting in 2024, new leadership sought to make a more inclusive space for students to make any type of film outside of the classroom environment. Working closely with Sloate Media Center, The One Train creates two short films (10-12 minutes each) spanning a variety of genres and produces the film’s from its initial pitch to its screening. Outside of its films, the group provides an opportunity for students, from a variety of experience, access to opportunities to learn new filmmaking skills in workshops, exclusive events, and filming opportunities on campus.
