About The Policy Reform Lab
The Policy Reform Lab is building Africa's incubator for public-interest tech. Launched in May 2025, we exist to solve the Builder Paradox in Africa: the shortage of informed, context-aware builders creating scaled solutions for African problems. We believe policy reform isn’t just written in papers, it’s built into systems, tools, and products that make life better for everyday people. Our 12 Reform Pods span education, healthcare, energy, tech, rare earth governance, politics, and more. Each Pod is a micro-team where members learn, collaborate, and build real solutions in their area of interest. Our Theory of Change: If young Africans work collectively, beyond national borders, while staying informed about the African story in their field, they can build and ship products faster, with greater impact. Our Mission: To incubate a generation of bold thinkers and builders equipped to influence national conversations, shape global discourse, and lead transformative change across Africa. How We Work: We run 3-month builder cohorts where members: -Join a Reform Pod aligned with their passion -Get hands-on training in tech, finance (monetisation), governance systems, and product building -Receive mentorship from experienced builders and domain experts -Build and ship an MVP that solves a real problem for real users Our Give & Grow model ensures every member contributes through research, publishing, advocacy, and product development while gaining practical skills, visibility, and leadership experience. Through publishing sprints, webinars, product demos, and a strong culture of peer support, we’re building Africa’s most vibrant public-interest innovation ecosystem. Who We’re For: We’re looking for doers in industry, civic spaces, and startups who want to build thought leadership and ship impactful products, not just talk about change. Join Us: Applications for the next cohort open soon. Waitlist: bit.ly/thepolicyreformlab
