The Prithvi Foundation

Right from the beginning of human civilization many great philosophers have pondered over the purpose of human life. Lot of scientific research has taken place in search of the welfare of human beings as well as other forms of life on this earth. Our parents give us birth but the earth gives us everything to nourish us and sustain our lives—be it food, water, air or the congenial social environment. Our scriptures have called the earth our mother and we all are her progeny. In that sense all the living beings on the earth share a brotherly relationship with each other. Hence the main purpose behind establishing THE PRITHVI FOUNDATION was to nurture the thoughts and actions supportive for the welfare of the living as well as the non-living beings on this earth, and to work for developing equality, brotherhood and justice. Poverty, unhappiness anywhere is a threat to prosperity, happiness everywhere. The Indian philosophy and the ancient Indian scriptures have advocated the achievement of the welfare of all through pursue of righteous path and finally achieving the ultimate heavenly bliss along with the wellbeing of the whole universe. The Vedas say, "Oh sacred fire! Please guide us to prosperity by righteous path." The Prithvi Foundation aims at spreading this message of our great forefathers in the world and to work for the maintenance of the balance in interdependence and co-existence of all the beings on the earth and to work for protecting the biodiversity on this planet. Our Earth is our home and our only home. We shall have our home right and safe if and only if the earth is protected and safe. The motto of The Prithvi Foundation is "Let us work for the betterment of the whole world.” Betterment cannot be brought about in bits and pieces. The approach has to be holistic for the survival of the humanity as a whole and for the survival of our endangered planet we have to work in harmony.
