The Public Foundation: Feeding Hope, One Fridge at a Time
The Public Foundation is a not-for-profit organization addressing hunger and food waste through “Ayyamittu Unn.” By installing community fridges and charity counters in Chennai, Bangalore, and Vellore, we provide free access to food, clothing, books, and essentials—without questions or judgment.
Founded by Dr. Issa Fathima Jasmine in 2017, Ayyamittu Unn began with a simple idea: a public fridge where anyone could take or leave food anonymously. This vision has grown into a powerful movement, restoring dignity, fostering community, and transforming surplus into sustenance.

👕 87 tonnes of clothing, 2,819 pairs of shoes, and 2,531 kg of toys distributed

🍬 30,850 sweet boxes shared across 48 villages
🚨 78,000 meals and 6,500 relief kits during emergencies
