I juggle multiple identities that at times make me feel like I still don’t have things figured out, making the classic networking ice-breaker question “So, what do you do?” incredibly nerve-wracking.My academic credentials say I am an Orthodontist. However, I do a lot more! I am a social worker, a budding farmer, a traveler, a teacher, and a fitness enthusiast. I have to admit it’s pretty great to have a life packed with a variety of interesting, fulfilling projects that not only foster a range of skills but also nourish my passions.I had an amazing job as an Assistant Professor teaching dental graduates and practising Orthodontics. When the entrepreneurial dream hit me hard, I opened a retail store for Indian ethnic clothes only to sell it after 3 yrs. When you begin to take action to bring awareness to the causes you care about, you become an activist in the process. I can say that being a social worker was never in my plans. Given the plight of world hunger and the amount of food, we waste and this fact is shameful enough, I decided to help reduce food wastage by installing public fridges so the excess food can be donated to the needy. Changing the world starts with helping one person and being able to empathize with them. There's nothing more satisfying than seeing a happy and smiling face and when you know you are the reason for it, the satisfaction knows no boundary. I love to network with new people and learn new things. I love to hear incredible stories of people doing the impossible. In my spare time, I am either playing with kids or checking for travel deals or designing spaces that bring positive vibes. Still, I continue to live the entrepreneurial dream.
