The Substance Abuse Foundation Inc. (SAF) is a registered charity of Barbados, established in 1996 to fight the harmful impact of illicit drugs and alcohol on the shattered lives of citizens and their families in Barbados and the wider Caribbean. The Substance Abuse Foundation operates Verdun House and Marina House, residential treatment centres for addiction, in Barbados. They are the leading internationally accredited health institutions in the Caribbean, providing critical intervention and recovery services to persons suffering from the disease of addiction. Additional counselling services include therapy for people dealing with grief, domestic violence, trauma, divorce, depression and anger management. These counselling services are available on an outpatient basis and virtually. Other services include Short-term treatment retreats, workplace intervention and drug testing.
