As part of an initiative for the Youth Leadership Academy (YLA) by McKinsey & Co, the Project was founded with the vision to create a safe space for the youths and young adults to express themselves; their thoughts, emotions, feelings, opinions -anything mental health related. The SpeakSpace is also aligned with an initiative by United Nation Development Program (UNDP) through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG); Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being.
