The Urban Legend Inc.

The Urban Legend comic is created by Josef Yohannes with art by NewTasty (Steve Baker). The Urban Legend depicts school teacher Malcolm Tzegai Madiba’s battle against crime and violence in Capital City. The first issue of The Urban Legend, was originally published in January 2012 in Norway. After rave reviews in Norway, Josef took TUL to San Diego Comic Con 2012. At SDCC, TUL was selected for a digital publishing deal with USA TODAY. The first issue released commercially in Norway in 2013 and quickly became a success. The Urban Legend comic has partnered with notable organizations and institutions (Mandela Family Foundation, Malala Fund, The Noble Peace Center) in the creation of educational content which has been part of school curriculums around the world. The Urban Legend comic seeks to be the first independent black superhero that serves a global audience. In conjunction with development partners, The Urban Legend comic is growing into a multi-media brand with upcoming animated content, new digital interactive experiences, and more.
