Out of an estimated 35,000 private schools in Ghana, about 80% provide basic education to school-going children, and more than half of these serve children from low-income communities. The market share of low-cost private schools has grown steadily throughout Ghana in response to gaps in access and quality of public schools. However, these low-cost private schools often lack the resources and support necessary to provide quality education to their students.
