Family home of the Duke of Lauderdale, Thirlestane Castle is one of the oldest and finest castles in Scotland. It still remains a family home to the Maitland family today.
Thirlestane is open for public and private tours throughout the year, and is also an impressive setting for all kinds of large-scale outdoor events, corporate events, private dining experiences and weddings.
Thirlestane has a 5-star accommodation offering in the South Wing of the castle, consisting of eight bedrooms split over five apartments. The castle apartments can either be taken individually or all together by a group of up to sixteen people.
We can help arrange a variety of experiences such as horse riding, spa treatments and other activities in the grounds. A fully catered and exclusive use option is also available.
