Ian Thorn is the Founder of EC&I Systems and an experienced Senior EC&I Engineer, with a proven track record of leading high-value EC&I projects to Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Pharmaceuticals and Water sector clients with strong focus on QHSE and delivering projects as per requirements and engineering standards.
Ian engages with EPC Contractors and Operators to present electrical, control and instrumentation solutions for CapEx approval. I am highly experienced leading EC&I engineers in FEED and detailed design phases in compliance with COMAH regulations and industry best practices. Furthermore, I interface with multi-disciplined teams, including process, piping, subsea and safety to ensure functional requirements are fully captured by EC&I design. I also support vendors throughout EC&I package construction to mitigate modifications and delays. I oversee FAT, commissioning, SAT and final handover of EC&I packages to client teams, including the delivery of full documentation in accordance with agreed supplier document requirements listing (SDRL).
During his career, Ian has worked with / for many top-tier organisations, including Sanofi, Chevron, Jacobs, Aquaterra Energy, Anglia Water, British Nuclear Group, Proeon Systems, Amec, Imtech Process, Cameron & Tyco.
