Thrive Therapeutic Recreation is a private practice serving people in the Niagara Region and beyond. We serve a diverse population and have the highest standards of care for each client. Fully insured and able to transport clients to activities, Thrive offers reliable, caring and individual Therapeutic Recreation services geared to each client. Therapeutic Recreation is an allied health profession involving a process of addressing functional interventions, leisure education and participation in recreation activities to help those with acquired or congenital disabilities or diseases thrive by achieving independence and full engagement in meaningful lives. Recreation Therapists assess clients using valid and reliable Therapeutic Recreation assessments and develop treatment plans which address the physical, emotional and mental well-being of clients. Recreation Therapists may include games, sports, movement, music, dance, arts and crafts, socializing, and trips into the community as just a few of the techniques used in treatment plans. Goals of treatment for clients can include: to learn skills to become more confident, to recover motor functioning, to form healthy social networks and reduce social isolation, to reduce symptoms of mental illness, to build a bank of resources for themselves, to discover joy in their leisure.
