Tianxia 天下

Our vision is a long and flourishing future. But getting there is far from guaranteed. We believe that choices we make this century will determine whether vast numbers of future beings lead lives of flourishing or misery. This is because emerging technologies, while bringing immense opportunities, are also giving humanity the power to destroy its potential. Existing nuclear weapons already have the capacity to create a global catastrophe. In the future, advanced biological weapons and AI systems could be as or even more dangerous. Figuring out how to wield our new-found technological power wisely is a pressing problem that defies national boundaries. This challenge motivated us to found the Tianxia community. Our name is inspired by the Chinese concept of Tianxia (天下), which represents a universal civilisational order. Our cross-cultural talent programs empower young people to work on protecting our common future.
