This is because emerging technologies, while bringing immense opportunities, are also giving humanity the power to destroy its potential. Existing nuclear weapons already have the capacity to create a global catastrophe. In the future, advanced biological weapons and AI systems could be as or even more dangerous.
Figuring out how to wield our new-found technological power wisely is a pressing problem that defies national boundaries. This challenge motivated us to found the Tianxia community. Our name is inspired by the Chinese concept of Tianxia (天下), which represents a universal civilisational order. Our cross-cultural talent programs empower young people to work on protecting our common future.
