TickIt Trading Systems was founded in 2009, evolving out of a successful proprietary trading firm’s quest to maximize the potential of automated trading. However, development of the TickIt trading system actually began in 2005 when the firm recognized the growing disparity between the tools and resources employed by big trading firms and those available to smaller firms and individuals. With the lack of any real ability to bridge that gap by existing technology providers, the firm began development of a proprietary trading system for its own use.
