TIKBAL is born from the need of reinterpreting the usage of traditional thread weaving in the country of Guatemala. By reintroducing new market trends to the Mayan tradition, TIKBAL aims to give a source of ethical income to Mayan people while creating attractive, upcycled fashion. We currently work with 2 up and coming Guatemalan designers, 2 Mayan associations and more than 10 thread weavers that believe in us.
TIKBAL was the winner of the Hokkaido University OnCampus HULT competition in 2022, and the Asian Regional HULT competition 2023.
