About Tillett Textiles

Tillett Textiles was founded in the 1940s by Leslie and D.D. Tillett and has since been beloved for its painterly hand-screened prints. Leslie, an artist collaborating with historic talents like Diego Rivera, and D.D., a photojournalist for Harper’s Bazaar, fell in love in Mexico where they started their eponymous textile printing business. Once they returned to the United States, their patterns quickly found their way into the homes of great tastemakers, including Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Bunny Mellon. F. Schumacher and Co. acquired Tillett Textiles is committed to preserving its legacy by producing the Tillett patterns in the time-honored tradition of hand-printing while maintaining and expanding Tillett’s ability to customize. Tillett continues to offer custom colorways, different ground cloth options, and the ability to create completely new designs. Stay tuned – there will be so much more to come!
