Timothy's Helping Heroes

Timothy Phillips, a disabled Navy veteran, started the non-profit organization Timothy’s Helping Heroes so he could give back to those who serve. Timothy’s Helping Heroes focuses on giving back to military and first responder personnel struggling with both mental and physical disabilities by subsidizing the cost of training service dogs. Timothy has his own service dog, Buddy, to help when he is overwhelmed by his post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and anxiety. Buddy is trained to sense stress and anxiety in Timothy, upon which Buddy will go to Timothy’s side and comfort him, letting him know he is not alone. Through petting and hugging Buddy, Timothy focuses his mind elsewhere deescalating his stress. This feeling of companionship and support Timothy receives from Buddy began his drive to help his fellow military and first responders in similar situations. This drive became Timothy’s Helping Heroes. Never forget those who serve.
