Titan Rover is a team composed of students ranging from Cal State University, Fullerton's engineering and computer science college, to the natural sciences college and business college. The team works year-round to design, build, and test a prototype a Mars Exploration Rover with the intent of competing in the annual University Rover Challenge (URC).
The University Rover Challenge is an international collegiate competition that takes place annually near the Mars Desert Research Station, located just outside of Hanksville, Utah. Rovers are expected to complete four tasks: execute an on-board science analysis, engage in extreme retrieval and delivery, perform equipment servicing, and conduct autonomous traversal. This challenge constrains teams to only spend up to $18,000, which greatly affects how we manufacture and buy hardware for our robotic platform. We pride ourselves on working with businesses and always ensure to promote companies that support the team.
