Toronto Metropolitan University Students for Mental Awareness, Support and Health (SMASH) Vision Statement: To increase awareness and support for mental health and wellness at Toronto Metropolitan University. Mission Statement: 1. To break down stigmas and raise awareness about mental health and wellness by educating and sharing resources in the student community. 2. To foster a welcoming, non-judgmental, and inclusive community by providing and facilitating student peer-to-peer support. 3. To advocate for a more supportive learning environment at Toronto Metropolitan University, including improved accessibility of resources. Toronto Metropolitan University SMASH is an extensive team of students from across all disciplines coming together to support mental health and wellness. We consist of several groups, including finance, administration, event planning, education, support, outreach and social media. We work within the Toronto Metropolitan University community and with external stakeholders to provide students with resources, tips, and help.
