Tomo is an app that seeks to solve a key problem in the United States which is the fact that almost half of Americans have no long term savings. We know that there are a plethora of different savings services available to us, but many people just don't take advantage. We believe the biggest issue is that it's tough to put money aside by yourself when there are so many needs.
Tomo fixes the issue by enlisting the help of your personal network of friends and family. By utilizing the power of community, we believe that our users will be more likely to put money aside with the encouragement of the folks who have your back as well as a clear financial goal ahead.
Here's how it works. Users pool their money into a “pot” over a set amount of time. Each user gets to withdraw the entire amount of communal funds from the pot based on his or her turn in line until everyone has had a turn, thereby saving the set amount of money agreed upon. Users earlier in line get access to the funds more quickly while the last in line saved the amount normally.
