Torquer Lifting Solutions is reinventing the tools of crane load control to increase automation, hands-free safety, and efficiency in the crane industry.
In the dangerous marine environment of the North Sea, the bulk of offshore rig accidents came from worker contact with moving crane loads. The rig industry needed solutions, and our small team of engineers stepped up to the challenge. Drawing on both creativity and focus, our team developed the Torquer HALO (Hands-free Autonomous Load Orientation). Each HALO keeps workers away from moving loads by giving them remote control over the crane load rotation. With the HALO, there are no tag lines, no poles, and no workers pushing or pulling the load into place.
HALO’s innovation, however, goes far beyond crane load control. The core of the design — using accelerating water to generate torque — prevents the danger and energy usage associated with the high-speed rotating steel discs of gyroscopes, so commonly found in other load rotation systems.
At Torquer, our commitment to innovation and making lifting safer and more efficient is never-ending. This is demonstrated in our constant improvements to the HALO and in the invention of a new hands-free crane load release system, SPEAR (Self Positioning Elevate And Release).
