MISSION: At Toru we hope that the social innovations and enterprises we incubate go on to impact communities, shift macro-level policies, and help the local ecosystem evolve while cultivating a culture that celebrates the spirit of social entrepreneurship. STORY: The world needs responsible, value driven system thinkers and transformative leaders who will be responsive to the problems in communities, challenge the status quo and reconstruct systems to build inclusive societies. Toru’s efforts are focused on the creation of a culture of possibility, where ideas do not die in the silence of inaccessibility. We are dedicated to promoting an entrepreneurial spirit that goes beyond business creation, nurturing empathy, developing problem-solving skills and inspiring collaboration to find solutions. Hence, our processes are driven towards the creation of this entrepreneurial spirit. We believe a knowledge and skill-based approach will enable the youth to become system thinkers, build innovations and transform those into sustainable enterprises. These innovators and system thinkers will become role-models and shift policies in the future. Their success will start a domino effect to bring about the inclusive change we envision.
