We value the opportunity for people with disabilities and elder people to remain an integral part of community, to live in their homes and to maintain the network of friends and neighbors. The willingness of Pilsen citizens to volunteer their time and expertise in support of the mission of our organization helps make this possible. We have a proactive approach to keep elderly people engaged through different learning possibilities, through art, dance and music activities, through brain and corper exercises to support improvements in both their mental and physical health. We develop and implement mentoring programs to help children with disabilities, from single-parent households, in forster care or children in foreign families. These children struggle with societal barriers and face adversities in their lives. Benefits of participation in our mentoring programs are apparent from early childhood to adolescence. Our intergenerational programs aims to bring old and young people together in purposeful and beneficial activities which promote understanding and respect between generations. That helps us to build more cohesive community. Our generation fusion is inclusive, building on the positive resources that the younger and older have to offer each other and those around them.
