touRRoir18 brought to you by GoodFoodIreland is a flagship event of Galway, West of Ireland 2018 European Region of Gastronomy. Building on from the success of touRRoir16 in Croke Park Dublin, Good Food Ireland is set to make touRRoir an annual event on the economic benefit of cross collaboration between these three giant sectors.
Food Tourism and Culture has become the leading hook in travel, with authenticity and the search for truth in terms of product, service and experience the single most important movement driving consumer behaviour today. In a unique exchange of experiences, expertise and learnings, touRRoir will bring latest trends, best-in-class thinking and cutting-edge innovation, on how through the inextricable link of these three sectors, companies can grow business, local communities can flourish and destinations can ensure a more successful and sustainable economic future.
touRRoir also incorporates the touRRoir Hall of Fame, a recognition given to individuals, teams or destinations that have made a positive and significant impact through the cross collaboration of food, tourism and culture. Inaugural inductees at touRRoir16 included Rene Redzepi, Noma Copenhagen, The Catalan Tourism Agency Spain and Lee Wook Chung a film producer/director from South Korea. At a Collaborative Gala Dinner in the Aula Maximas, NUI Galway on Monday April 23rd 2018 honourees chosen by a global judging panel will be inducted to the touRRoir18 Hall of Fame. The dinner menu will be inspired by the regions landscape and seascape and crafted by a collaboration of Irish and internationally acclaimed chefs together with Irish food producers.
