Tour Sense is comprised of experienced tour managers, production managers, publicists, tour accountants and creatives of all types. We have been involved in building shows and tours of all levels from the ground up. The idea of a tour manager or production manager working from home is not new, but today’s remote TMs are utilizing an incredible array of available technologies and apps to run tours without ever leaving the house. At Tour Sense, we use half a dozen different apps that cover everything from data collection, storage and entry to advancing, budgeting, staffing, building digital tour books, merch management and accounting. With this toolkit, we can scale our services to every client’s needs, from pre-production, to support, to wrap. This a la carte structure allows us to provide artists with the help they need at a price they can afford. The idea is get artists prepared in the right way, long before they ever hit the road. From that point on, handling many of the issues that arise is simply a phone call away. To those accustomed to having “boots on the ground” at their shows, the idea of separating a tour manager from the tour is a bit harder to grasp at first. This is understandable, since TMs many times symbolize a tangible level of security and organization. That said, remote TMs aren’t necessarily meant to be a replacement, but rather are a less-expensive option that has bubbled up to accommodate and augment the needs of a growing population of artists, managers, agents, and even TMs who are navigating the constantly shifting music industry landscape.
