TOWEO is a two-sided business network model that connects the supply of high-quality raw materials to the high demand for locally affordable processed products. Our mission is to provide healthy & affordable fresh juices to Africa’s urban population while reducing post-harvest losses by creating a complete value chain from small-scale farmers to informal markets. For that, we have developed a network of small processing units managed and run by Farmers Cooperatives and a network of Dilution Distribution Partners (DDP) to supply formal and informal restaurants with high-quality juice for sale. Our model offers multiple benefits: - Farmers: reduce their post-harvest losses, sell their production at a higher price, and move up the value chain through processing - Retailers: get a new revenue stream with a high-profit margin and fast moving product - Consumers: enjoy a high-quality and nutritious juice for the price of a soda Toweo is a social business having an impact on both the production and distribution sides with strong unit economics. Our model is profitable for all the value chain stakeholders (35% raw margin on average), and highly scalable by leveraging a strong franchise model.
